Creation of MiliMilu...

I wanted to share something really personal with you. As someone who is a bit reserved when it comes to sharing personal stuff, it's a big deal for me to open up about the journey and creation of MiliMilu. It hasn't been as easy or as quick as I had hoped, but I'm really excited to tell you all about it!

It has been the dream, the vision for a while..

Before the creation of MliMilu Lifestyle, it had always been a dream and a vision to create and design something my very own. I had been playing with this idea for a long time, thinking, preparing, and even making samples. I explored different areas and styles, trying to figure it all out. However, there was always something that stopped me, and most of the time, it was myself. So, the creation of MilMilu is a significant step, not only in terms of the work put into it but also for me stepping out of my comfort zone!

It all started, as I mentioned a while ago, with sketching, thinking, and dreaming to bring this to life. The pandemic, especially its duration in Hong Kong, wasn't part of the plan. Also, the instability that followed and still persists makes it hard to plan and project how the retail and sustainable markets will fare. Will people actually be interested in sustainable fashion and clothing that has meaning? It is easy to get super fast fashion clothing for very cheap, but as we all know, it doesn't last and harms the environment, the people making the clothing, and ultimately us and our children. However, it is our own decision what we will follow, and what we wear is a part of us and how we present ourselves to the world.

The style

If you are familiar with MiliMilu Lifestyle (or you will find it out soon!), we love the simplicity and easy-to-wear clothing that can be part of your capsule wardrobe. Our clothing is versatile enough to be worn from season to season. However, we also embrace colours and prints just to add a little edge! As it is a very personal launch, I am starting the MiliMilu with some of my favourite styles that I am sure you and your kids will love and wear and will be your favourites.

We provide essential items for every sustainable wardrobe, as well as pieces that will add to your personal style or personality. I am passionate about family fashion, and we feature our favourite Mini Me's that look stunning together or worn separately and your children's collections!

We are starting small but have big plans to expand with more colours and styles. Your support means everything to me in making a dream come true while also giving you the opportunity to be a more conscious consumer and support local businesses!

The fabrics

As you may already know, I have a deep love for linen. This passion stems not only from my Latvian heritage but also from my experience living in Hong Kong, where the breathable nature of this fabric has become even more appreciated in the hot weather. However, due to our commitment to using deadstock fabrics, we have a limited selection of colours and materials available. Therefore, please secure your favourite pieces while they are still in stock. We have to mention linen is widely used in our collections, but we also have some other exciting fabrics and prints we have come across.

 MiliMilu Christmas collection

We are thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated MiliMilu collection is on its way! But that's not all - we are also working on an exciting Christmas capsule collection. Christmas is our favourite time of the year, and this collection will feature our very own print. We had the privilege of collaborating with Rachel, an incredibly talented artist who runs a creative company, Little Sketch Studio, specialising in beautiful art for children and special cards.
